4 Things to Do When Your Car is Towed

1. Accept your mistake

Cars get towed when it are illegally parked. That is why the first thing that you need to do is accept that you parked illegally. Keep in mind that they cannot demand money from you or threaten you with prison. If you think there are irregularities with the towing and your car was damaged, the towing company will be the one liable to shoulder the losses and damages incurred because your car’s insurance will not cover it.

You also need to know that it is part of your right to document the whole towing incident. These include the towing truck's plate number, towing personnel, and officers' name and unit or affiliation, and date and time of the towing incident.  These pieces of information will be of great help you in case you have to file a complaint because of irregularities and/or illegal towing.
